I've been struggling to keep my beloved silkie rooster stable the past week as he has started to mysteriously decline. About a week ago, maybe a little longer, I noticed bright green poop in the coop and determined that it was coming from him. I read that this could be bile (?) because he's maybe not eating enough or not digesting food, or it could be a million other things, so I just started giving him electrolytes and probiotics and hand feeding him to make sure he was eating. He was also starting to slow down and not move around as much. He got a little worse in terms of lethargy but the green poop went away and then he stayed that way for about a week, I would take him out and use a syringe to give him fluids and then hand feed him, and a couple days ago he even seemed to be getting better and I noticed that he was eating and drinking on his own. I also dosed him with corid in case that could be the issue but the coop is generally clean, it's warm and dry here, and he's three years old, so it seems unlikely to me that it would be coccidiosis. Then this morning I opened the coop door and I honestly thought he was dead, he was laying down with his wing stretched out and his head down. He's alive but seems like he's a day away from death all of a sudden, he's just staying in one place with his head hanging down. What could this be/is there anything I can do?
On the other hand, this morning my other rooster (separate coop) didn't get out of the coop when I opened the door, and once he finally did he just stayed in one place and now he's just standing a little hunched up with his eyes closed. This is extremely frustrating as now it seems I'm dealing with two sick roosters and none of the hens have any symptoms. Could both roosters getting sick be connected in some way or just a really bad coincidence? They have never interacted or shared a coop but I guess I could have passed bad bacteria from one coop to another.
I'm not feeling very optimistic about either rooster but any help would be greatly appreciated, I've really been doing everything I could think of to save my silkie rooster because he is my favorite and first chicken and I'm very attached to him. I don't know if there's any way for him to come back from this at this point but I'm really hoping there's at least something I can try.
