Very small silkie

Quote:
Silkies have a standard that dictates their size. It is and always has been bigger than other bantams like the Dutch. My Hamburgs are bantams yet they are larger than my d'Uccles and Dutch, but they meet the standard for size set for them.

Silkies are NOT a true bantam. In the US we only have bantams, but in most other parts of the world, they are available in both largefowl and bantam breeds. I would love to see a silkie the size of a largefowl exhibition strain white rock or brahma or orpington: a huge fluffy beachball!

This is Dwarf at about two years of age. She stood half the height of my other Silkies. She laid a normal sized egg for a Silkie and I mistakenly hatched one her eggs which produced a normal sized male. She didn't develop a tail until she hit four years old and quit laying.

Looks like my dwarf partridge silkie
