I only freerange when I can be out to supervise...Our resident RedTail Juvenile eats the guy on the corner's racing pigeons, but he has tried for lunch on the go at my birdfeeder and went after Obelisk a couple of times too.

I believe that hawks, owls, and eagles are all federally protected, so it doesn't matter where in the US you are, there is a very stiff penalty for killing them
