Very weak emanciated buff brahma 4 years old

Do you have a vet near?And have you seen any worms in her poop?If not she may have an actual disease.

Well i took her to the vet when I saw the white goop coming from her vent. That was 2 weeks ago. She gave me an antibotic. Offered to do bloodwork and xrays, but that was getting expensive. We decided to go with the antibiotic for 4 days. She has not physically improved. What disease could it be where her appetite would be so good still?

I would guess she has tape worms if she is skinny, but eating. Try Wormazole, it's really good for tape worms. It's a one pill every ten day dose until she is back to her normal weight. I hope this helps! Have a great day and God Bless!

Valbazen will kill tapeworms, right? I read it kills all chicken related worms, that's why I ordered it. Anyone have more info on Valbazen? It was not cheap and I had them overnight it, so I should receive tomorrow.

Wait, did the vet offer to do a fecal float for you? If not, that's the first thing that should have been offered, because nine times out of ten, that will give you a clue to what is going on. It could be one of many illnesses and just because she is still eating doesn't mean anything; many birds will keep on eating even up to near death. If she has white stuff like diarrhea stuck to her feathers around her vent, to me it sounds like Avian TB, for which there is no cure, but is not positively diagnosed except through necropsy. It takes a long time to kill a bird. But it could be worms or cocci or a million things. Chickens don't often get tape worms, but it's possible. Go get a fecal float done. It should cost about 15.00 - 18.00. If your vet won't do one, find a vet that will, and furthermore, tell your vet that's what you're doing. That's ridiculous that they offered to do all those tests without doing the simple things first. Whatever you do needs to be done quickly, because when she starts showing symptoms like that, she's really sick, and the more you wait, the less chance you have of saving her.

If you've dewormed her already, good, but hopefully you used Valbazen, or a broad spectrum dewormer. If it helps, do it again in ten days. When birds are sick and, especially when you don't know what's wrong, deworming and also treating for cocci are good preventative measures (not both at once)..but cocci tend to take over when birds are immune system compromised, and that can kill them, too, even if cocci is not the underlying cause for illness. Same with worms. But meds like dewormer if used when the bird is really weak can cause problems, too. That's why I almost ALWAYS do a fecal check on a sick bird, within the first couple of days, so I have a better idea how to proceed.

While you're doing all that, try to make sure she continues eating and (especially!) drinking.

I seen worms before I even knew she had em,that’s how I found my hen had them.So I don’t think treatment will effect seeing them because your gonna see them period.

Sorry, but you almost never see worms in chickens. Especially not Capillary worms. And they will kill the bird quickly. Don't go using a bunch of different dewormers, because that will kill her too.

No. But she probably doesn't have tapeworms.

Never offered fecal check. And I have not dewormed yet. I ordered the Valbazen and should receive tomorrow. Should I get the fecal check or start the dewormer?

Yes we did have thesr worms in the late summer and we used Wazine. Nothing in her poop recently. I am guessing a diffetent kind of worm. I have not used any deworm yet since the late summef/early fall.

Found an large egg this morning, but she is no better and i have heard some weezing. I am suppose to receive the Valbazen today. I am hoping for a miracle!
