Very weak newborn goat, HELP!

For the future ask around and find someone who is milking a herd of goats. You can usually get bottles of frozen colostrum from them. I have 2 coke bottles of colostrum in my freezer. I paid $10 a bottle for it but I have it on hand should the need arise. You can also ask a local goat vet if they know of anyone with it onhand.

He is gone, Thank you all for helping.

The remaining triplet is doing pretty good. He still can't stand to nurse, but he nurses if you hold him up to Mom and he will nurse from a bottle so she is going inthe house tonight so she can be fed through the night. She is super cute, LOOK

Thanks Miss Prissy, that is a good idea. We did milk the Mother goat to get some colostrum for him but he was just to weak. It would be great to have some on hand in the freezer just incase it's needed in the middle of the night

Thanks again to all of you for your suggestions. I sure learned a lot in just a couple hours. BYC is the greatest!!!!

When I realized he was gone, I checked the bator and I have a chick!!!!! also 3 pips on my silkie eggs. So I have something to smile about after all today

I was just coming to add that. BO-Se is about $20 for a bottle. My lambs are really in great shape now. Within hours of their birth we gave them the injection and never had one problem with them. My vet recommended giving it to any kids born here also.

Oh, I wish you were closer! We tube fed a baby llama that was a preemie (after we did an emergency C-section...it's mother was dying). It isn't hard and we got cattle colostrum from the local dairy as a substitute. We also supplied oxygen from a welding tank just passed under his nose until he stopped "gasping" and kept him very warm. He did make it. If the baby isn't sucking, he is going to have to be tube fed. Good luck!!! I wish I could help more!

Judging by the baby bucks profile and the issues with standing it seems that these may be premature kids. I think that the baby may benifit from comming inside and being placed in a warm room. How much does the kid weigh? If you can help it try not to let her get stuck with her legs splayed out. I personaly would keep her in a heated room until she is active bouncing off the walls.
