It should be skicky in this thread also!

I guess I'd probably qualify as a veteran so here's my piece of advice....COMMON SENSE people!!!!! Stop and think about what makes sense before you panic and go off the deep end.

Use the search tool.....it's a great tool and can help you find the answer to probably 999 out of a 1000 questions.

I have to agree with Katy, especially if you're raising your first batch. STOP, take a deep breath and think about the issue before you get panicky.

Sometimes the best advice is rather harsh - but it's so true - get off the computer and go do your best to deal with the situation. THEN come back for troubleshooting.

Always ready to help, but you have to do your part, too.

Thanks for starting this thread. It's true that most the questions that I've had so far have been answered by a quick search.

I just found this thread and agree wholeheartedly with all that has been posted. I know from experience that when something comes up with you birds that you have no knowledge of it's hard not to panic. But take the above information to heart, take a deep breath, relax, the research and you'll do just fine. And remember many times in life the secret is to "master the obvious".

Where in SoCal? I am in Phelan, 7 miles northwest from Wrightwood ski resort.

I can tell you from experience that even if you ARE panicing, don't let it come across in your post. I got the most useful help in the Emergencies section when Audrey ripped half her toe off and the bleeding wouldn't stop. A post requesting help that is thought out and concise AND SUCCINCT will bring faster information.
