ok, looking online and there are different formulas for vetrx- what is the difference if any- say between the caged bird formula and poultry formula? is it the same as vaporub? could you use vaporub in a pinch?

Vicks can be harmful to people's or chicken's lungs. If that's what vetrx is, I'm surprised anyone buys it.

I bought a bottle of VetRx because my hen was sneezing. I got the poultry formula. It can go in the water, be used as a solution mixed with water or used directly in the bird if needed. Seemed to help. The package states that it's based on a formula in use since 1874. It claims to control colds in flocks and treat indiidual birds for symptoms of colds, roup, scaly legs and "eye worm".

thanks folks- here is what i found on it-
ok, found the answer at this site-

any of the vetrx types will work-

You can order it thru most suppliers. It comes in small bottles and also qts. it is for dogs, cats, goats, all birds, rabbits, horses etc. But is the same formula for each only bottled individual species sales.

ingredients:
3.3% Alcohol, Canada Balsam, Camphor, Oil of Origanum, Oil of Rosemary and Corn Oil.

now my curiosity is satisfied!LOL! if anyone want a copy of the info. pm me, i have it saved

i have a little cochin that seems to have chronic 'colds' sneezing, gurgling, it will clear up and come back- so thought maybe this is something to help-
