Guess what my ducks vibrate. Yeah. Whenever I hold my beautiful ducks they start vibrating. A LOT. From their bill to their breast. Btw they are magpie ducks. Does anyone know why?

A couple of my pekins will do that. I don't know how to interpret it - probably excitement I guess. I thought one of my friendly ducks was doing it because she liked to see us - she would walk right up to us and do that vibrating thing and kind of shoot her head forward. Yesterday I tried to soak her for bumblefoot and she was sooo mad and did it then also. I have no idea why they do it!

Only one of my ducks does this, my pied Muscovy hen. She does it when she’s overly worked up, whether her excitement is positive (sitting in the sun on a rare beautiful day, grooming and being groomed by her sister) or negative (broody or “pre-broody”). It’s really bizarre to watch! One day, I hope to get a video of it.
