Vibrating ducks...

My ducks particularly my drake does this weird vibrating thing. He does it more so when the dog is around, then he kind of throws his neck around the dog and pecks at him. Although sometimes he and very occasionally the girl seem to randomly do it.

My Rouen duck hen does that. If I don't offer the daily meal worms, she will come up to pen and vibrate, then attack. I think it is normal...

I think it is a warning or they are getting ready to attack. My geese do it. And the ducks do it right before they chase a dog.

My drakes vibrate their necks and head when I am introducing a new duck into the flock, or if they are near my dogs. It means they are about to peck.

It cracks me up, they look funny when they do it.

Another thing I've noticed is this little dance of head and neck bobbing up and down with loads of chatter. I talk to them while they are doing it, and they appear to get louder and bob a little faster

LOL I do the same thing! It is too funny when the whole flock gets going with the head bobbing and the chattering!
