Vicious at 6 weeks old

Well today, one of my BOs caught a snake in the yard. Just an 8" juvenile Corn Snake. She ran around for a while till a RIR took it away from her. She killed it by violently shaking her head.

My cats are usually the snake wranglers but everyday these hens surprise me.

Yeah, my chickens would give the best cat a run for its money. My old ladies became very adept hunters- bugs, frogs, snakes, toads, mice, rats and even the occasional young squirrel. Tough as nails, they are. If yours are hunting at such a young age then they are going to be a force to be reckoned with when they reach full size. "Chicken Keep Away" is a pretty gruesome game mine like to play. I can't watch them play it anymore. It turns my stomach.
