Victor learned a new trick!

it's a duck , but when they bought "him" he was saposed to be a drake but truned out to be a duck , they syill call him Victor

Maybe the terminolgy is different in your locale. Here ducks come in male and female. We call males drakes and females hens.

a duck is the wirte word to use when talking about one duck ie talking about 1 female duck , that has been what i was tought anyways

That is too cute. I am happy when I can tell Cocoa and Ebony "easy" when they take treats out of kids hands and they listen and don't get an entire finger in ther mouth.

Well, not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but the "trick" you have here, at least in parrots anyway, is usually done as a response to the end of a social interaction. You will most often see a parrot do it in response to something dramatic, like if the parrot tries to nip your finger while he is on it and you drop your hand suddenly like you're going to let him fall off for doing that...it's kind of like an "oh, okay" in bird language. This is likely why it is easy for Victor to give this response...you're looking for him to do something that comes quite naturally to him anyway. Not that this is bad...using the animal's natural response toward achieving a desired behavior is a good foundation to building up more complex routines. One of my mares was a day old filly and I taught her to "smile" by using the flemen response...the horse lifting its lip to deeply process a strange or new scent...she has always remembered this "trick" and will do it on voice command now. I incorporated tickling her lip every time I saw her displaying this behavior and she had it down before she was a whole day old.

When i tried teaching ming mie to do the same thing (which she will somtimes do, not everytime like victor...) i said, "Shake your butt!" to her and victor did it without being touched... He seems to be learning to do it on command... I'm not sure why he does it, but it is stinken cute!
