Here's June Bug with OEG bantam X Welsummer/Silver Phoenix chick hatching on video.

I'll post more after they're formatted. Enjoy!

You are so welcome! I will let you know that the eggs I ordered and shipped did not hatch as quickly as these two that were from my own flock. What I mean is that these eggs were right on time, while the shipped eggs, well, most needed help hatching. These were eggs produced and placed beneath the hen on the same day-no delay. They seem much stronger than the eggs sent in the mail. They were kicking harder while still developing. Though, I'm not sure what the real cause of this difference is--whether it is genetic or environmental.

Here is a video of the second chick hatching. This is the RIR cross. This video has been edited for the exciting parts of the hatch. It happened rather quickly, but not as quick as this video.

Wow! That's amazing!
Thanks for sharing. Do you have a pic of your broody hen setup?
I have a broody sitting on eggs in a dog pen in my house and I was just curious to see what other people used.

Cute chicks!

This hen is in a rabbit-type cage sitting atop the large dog crate one of my other broodies is in with her seven chicks. I'm moving her to a larger cage or a large Tupperware container within a couple of days, if we don't make a larger brooding pen for her.
