I am going to raise my chickens on a pasture this year and I already planted Bermuda
Grass. But I am looking for a vigorous plant that spreads and can withstand 100 chickens
Thankyou

Plant a mulberry tree or two. Once established it'll be like having a vertical food system. Plenty of fresh berries for a few months out of the year, and a nice shady spot during hot days.

Comfrey
mangels
corn
sunflowers
Zucchini
swiss chard
cabbage
duckweed
wheat grass
rye grass
oats
barley
mulberry trees
chestnut trees
black walnut trees
Hardy shrubs that produce fruit such as thornless black berries
fodder beets
potatoes
pumpkins
winter squashes
sweet potatoes
and dont forget Dandelions

How big is your pasture? Understand nothing, in a too small area except established trees and bushes, can hold up to chickens.

I didn't want to discourage you. A large enough pasture works great. Try long grasses fescues, rye grass, clovers, basically regular pasture mixes. Alfalfa can also be added. Might have to mow it once and a while, as chickens don't like to go in tall grass.

Try growing duckweed. Just put some in a tup of water and it will double quantity in a day or two. Each day, scoop out half and throw it on the ground for your chickens. It has a lot of protein too :)

You can go to a fish store or a seasonal store that sells flowers and also has fish, they should have it. If you have swamps/ponds nearby, you can scoop some out of it. If you dont have any of these, it is on ebay for $5 for 1/4 cup.
