Exactly - and it keeps the water somewhat sanitized. I use ACV I’m a waterer everyday for them plus a bowl of fresh water with nothing in it. Then every weekend they get garlic in the ACV water. I have been doing this for 3 years and I am convinced it helps keeps my chickens healthy and supports a healthy biodome.I find just the opposite - the acid keeps it from getting slimy
I don't understand the vinegar thing either. Put an egg in vinegar and see what happens. So what is vinegar in the water doing to your hens' bones? And given a choice, will they even drink it?![]()
That is interesting! When I had horses, I had two large watwr tanks side by side. One tank had three or four large goldfish, about as big as my fist. The horses would ONLY drink from the tank that contained the fish, so go figure!I can’t speak to whether it’s good or bad (we need a scientist for that)...but I have offered both side-by-side and had the flock drink the ACV water faster than the plain water.
ZeroHow much vinegar should one use to treat the fresh water?
