I want to grow fast growing non toxic vines over my coop, maybe something my birds can eat the fruit of. The vines must love full sun ..I want the vines to provide shade. What is a good vine? I only know morning glories/ moon flowers which are toxic nightshade, so any ideas would be great.

Nice thread! I'm interested in something similar. Mine is going to be a stationary coop, but I want to be able to to move it if I ever have to, so I think mine will be in pots. Similar lighting, though I'm probably more like partial sun, though it will be full sun at times.
I was thinking climbing rose, I like grapes! Thats a good idea. I've heard that chickens might like to eat rose petals, and that rose hips (the buds or similar?) is great for cleansing and removing toxins. Probably be a bit more difficult to find though.

I've had good success with established grapevines. You'll need to protect the roots from dusting and scratching birds of course. I set tomato cages on their sides which made a fun tunnel for them to loaf in during the day. The lowest leaves would get munched on, but the rest of the fence looked great. They ate the fruit they could reach and what fell as well.

What kind of grapes?

That's what I've been looking at, climbing roses, for around the coop.
