Thanks for the information about the swap! Looks like it's about 4 hours from me. Hmm, I doubt I'll make it up there this year. I think I'm pretty much at my chicken quota for this year (I would really like to find some blue quail and fawn silver duckwing old English game bantams, though. Hmm...). I'm trying to wait until I get my current batch sorted out to keep, eat, or sell/give away. Do you need to be NPIP certified to sell? I'm not, but I've been thinking that it's something I should look into.

No, you don't have to be NPIP to sell in Virginia at the swaps.People have good luck selling at the swaps .

I don't really have anything to sell at the moment, but I probably will after my cochins get better developed, and I decide for sure which roosters I'll be keeping for breeding. I may have some cochins, OEGBs, brabanters, BLRWs, and/or crosses next year to sell/trade. That makes me very happy!

I was so sure I'd never be able to take any of my chickens to swaps until I became certified. I just figured I'd end up sticking up flyers in the feed store and putting a "Chickens for Sale" sign in my front yard. lol!​

I have mostly blue and blue/splash marans. some splash marans/ white rock mix. A couple of buff orpingtons, welsumer. and a few barnyard mix.

Bob, MY PULLETS ARE LAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssssssss! I am soo happy right now I could dance ! The little white silkie started first ,now one of the splash has started laying also !!!!! There is no stopping me now ,I will be hatching until the cows come home,and since I don't have any cows

Really! I am still going to take two of my birds to the show in Nov .Don't know how I will do since it's my first time but I have to start or I will never learn. I am excited over showing them also!!

Might you have any silkie girls or maybe a polish roo for sale? I need the roo to be smooth feathered.

Have about 45-50 in brooder, 25 ish in toddler pen and 80 ish in the bator...i know u have the choc frizzle polish don't remember what others...need choc, black or choc cuckoo roo over her

I have the choc and a white crested black pullet and a white crested black frizzle roo.So that's why I am looking for a smooth roo for the choc. She is just so sweet .I pick her up everyday .The boy still screams

but not as bad . I have to laugh every time he does it.
Sounds to me like you need me to come and take some of those off your hands and the sooner the better
