thanks! I just contacted another seller I found on there and will hopefully getting 2 RIR, a ameraucana,and a austrolorp. very excited to be starting a coop. My 4 and 5 year old children are super excited too!!!

I got my chickens today!!! so excited...The Ameraucana is already a favorite she is very sweet and loves meal worms. she will already come to me when I hold out my hand!

well, i've acquired a few extra girls (tho one's awol at the moment) that will be available if anyone wants to add a few nice girls to their flock(s)...

3 buff orpingtons (1 got out and went AWOL), 2 barred rocks, and a delaware. all are nearing 2 years old and coming out of a moult.

i sent 4 sexlinks to 'freezer camp' (one had breathing issues - turned out to be cancerous) and all were very fat.

i'm hoping that losing some weight by free ranging the remaining girls will also help with the egg laying too.

they're all very sweet, especially the delaware and buff orps. everyone got out when the wind blew the door open, the orps and dellie all came up to the house and hung out with my cats until i noticed them. the rocks followed me/us back 'home' and went in on their own.

i'm still debating if i have room for extra layers, but if you are interested pm me.

I m in VA in the Lake Anna area. Had my chickens a few weeks now. Loving every minute of it.

Anyone have one or two Japanese bantam pullets/hens??? I bought the only two that were left at the feed store here and both turned out to be roos. I gave the Buff one away but I want to find at least 1 pullet. I live on the Eastern Shore but will be traveling through other parts of VA in Jan., so other locations might be fine, too!!

PS Will actually driving to NJ (near NYC), then western MD, Blacksburg, VA., Princeton, WV, points along my route, and back home...my round trip to visit with my 3 children and their families as all cannot come here during Christmas.
