Very surprised not to see some Russian Orloffs in those mixes! The combs are perfect for Virginia weather and the cockerels are good size- bigger than the RIR roos I had. And so friendly too. Sorry but I have fallen for this breed since starting with them last year
I also have several trios/reverse trios to begin a journey with Mottled Houdans, Buff Laced Polish, Crevecouers and Mille Fleur Bearded Duccles. I can't wait to expand those groups. Then there are the buff orpingtons and white leghorns for the always popular production breeds, a great 'fall back' if folks in my area don't get into the rare and fancies. I've noticed a lot of people respond to my ads because they've never heard of the breed for sale. The last group is Silver Sebrights which turned out MUCH hardier and cold weather tolerant than any of the texts would lead you to believe! We'll see how the fertility and hatching goes with them since it is supposedly notoriously hard to hatch/brood with good results. Ones to go right now are 3 feed store 'bantam silkies' that only resemble silkies in that they have silkie feathers and black skin- they turned out standard size with huge feet, one cockerel with a double toenail looking like an octopus beak!!! Of course there is my "baby" true bantam silkie Consuela too
