nope. we're going to SC for the weekend... so I have to have all the birds self sufficient by then, or have someone come over and feed and turn loose & lock up the free rangers...

thinking i'll put up a temporary pen for the rangers and not worry about locking at night. and pray no coons find their way in.

I tried praying but the coons have a different religion... plus they do chicken sacrifices. Little freaks - they are faithful though, I'll give them that.

hello im in Pittsylvania county. I have ten chickens now they are rhode island reds. Im currently building a new coop hoping to get some buff orpingtons this spring. hopefully someone else on here is in my area.

I've never heard of longhorn chickens either? Wish I had some olive eggers though. Working towards that!!

Hi neighbor! I'm in Pittsylvania Co. too. I have Silkies and a beautiful English Cuckoo Orpington roo. I have BBS English Orp eggs coming in March. I love hatching. My silkies have been laying all Winter. If you're ever interested in any Silkie chicks, let me know!

Had a little trouble with my new Cockerel - he does not know how to mate.
He does not know what to do. He does the 'wing out' business, runs round her in circles, grabs her by the back of the neck
then stands looking at her.....................................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
He's 10/11 months old.

Then again, he's only got wee legs.

You can get those at Tractor Supply and/or Southern States....(assuming you meant leghorns, too).
