Hey fellow Virginians.
We live here in Ft Valley Va in Shenandoah County. We got hammered with rain. About 5 inches. Flooded out our road and both bridges to get off my rd. Still cleaning up the mess. All animals fared well though so no complaints!
Oh how wonderful!!!! Congrats!! Perhaps there is a Coal Jr (Cinder, maybe?) in there??
I think month old chicks should be fine in that cozy lil' hooch... Does it have a window or some type of ventilation?4-1/2 week old chicks are out of the basement and into their new house!!! Debating on whether or not to run the heat lamp for them for a couple nights. There are 18 of them, almost entirely feathered out (leghorn cockerels lack some under wings and on back and a splash cochin pullet is super slow to feather on her back). Weather.com says low of 58 here tonight. Whatcha think?![]()
Quote: Last week one of the eight week old cockerels disappeared without a sound. I believe a winged demon spirited the lil' feller away, also! We've already got a 'Cinder' in the last batch that the game bird set for us. As for the fox, I'm awaiting arrival of several Premier 1 electric poultry fences. I'm tired of raising chickens for that rascal to dine on!
