The thread has been pretty quiet. Sorry I can't help with your questions on NPIP certification, but I would also like to here what others have to say on the subject!

If you are selling within the state, you dont need it. If your planning to sell outside the state, You will need it. Some of the worse condition chickens were NPIP. Just bc someone is NPIP does not make them honorable.Where did everyone go? I haven't been here for a while myself but it looks like everyone else is gone.
Update for our farm: We are highly considering becoming NPIP certified. I hear it's kind of strict here in VA, so anyone have any experiences? Or tips?
How exciting! What breeds are you going to hatch? Still don't have enough room to add more to the flock, but if I did I would look for Orpingtons.Hi Virginia! I'm new to the Eastern Shore and hoping to find some chicken keeping friends! We're working on the coop now and will be hatching and raising rare breeds come spring. I would love to hear from some locals to see what everyone has/wants in the area.

Ameracaunas are the prettiest birds! I've always wanted one!I'm fond of twentse and ameracauna and I see that GFF has deathlayers! My last flock was ccl, brown leghorns and lav orps mostly. I love the lav orps, big ole fluffy butts!, but the love of my life was a black true ameracauna, sweetest bird I ever saw!
Do you breed and sell Blue Ameraucanas? I need some for a project......
I will be breeding and selling Partridge Plymouth Rocks, Buff Orpintons, Speckled Sussex, Silver Laced Wyandottes, and Black Australorps hopefully starting in January.
