Virginia

Nothing special here but I can say that everyone is SICK of it all. Rain rain go away. :tongue
X 3!!
We are trapped in by flood waters and all the rivers in the area are at flood or major flood levels. My house and barns are on a ridge and safe but my little babbley "creek" is a torrential river and the lower pastures, bridges, and driveway are completely submerged. It looks like a lake out there and I need a boat. 😲

Oooooh, this flooding is terrifying me. I hope my girls will be okay. Anyone doing anything special for their flock in this shirtshow of a February?
I up-ended a couple of large logs (~12 and 18" high) in my run's wet-spot. It gave The Boys a place to sit up high and dry, but also gave them a new game to play ... King-of-the-Stump. They've entertained themselves for two days, now!

Was wondering if any Virginians know of a Reputable farm that sells goats. I wanted to purchase two female Nubians in the fall but the person I used to buy goats from is no longer in the goat business. I was looking for either quite young or pregnant
Contact your local 4H coordinator (Agricultural Extension Service.) I'm sure there's a 4Her with goats to sell. The kids (pun intended?) are usually pretty good about caring for their animals - and by supporting them, you'll be supporting a great organization.

Try ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association) they used to have local, regional, and state affiliates linked somewhere on their site. And you can also try
VA Dairy Goat Assoc.
Haven't been on this site in a while but they should have the regional dairy goat groups listed and those that border VA. And I agree with MROO, try the local 4-h groups.

I’ll be breeding my does this fall due to them not being a year old yet so I won’t have kids until next spring. My Bucks and Does will be ADGA registered Nubians though.
