Virginia

That May snow day was quite a sight. We not only had snow, we had sleet, hail, and rain all on the same day. Didn't know about the equinox timing. I use the first ship date from Burpee for live plants to plan the last of winter. Bet they use the equinox for shipping purposes. BTW, it's a earlier than last year, April 14 this year for zone 7.

I have six female runner ducks, between 8-18 months old. They are very randy (they mount and pick each other a lot!) and I am considering bringing a drake into the flock, but it would have to be a relatively nice boy, and preferably a runner duck. If anyone knows of someone who has a drake that needs a home, I'd talk!

Hi everyone! I’m a newbie and aboit to buy our first chicks. Does anyone have any leads on local places with either Buff or Lavendar Orpingtons or Easter Eggers?

Anyone here from Stafford County?

So from the research I’ve done, It seems like we aren’t allowed to have any chickens in the R-1 zones. We have almost half an acre of space here and (secretly) have a few chickens. Any idea if there is any petition or anything going around to change this ordinance? Would love to legally be able to keep chickens and don’t get how every other county around us (Spotsy, Fredericksburg City, PWC, Fairfax, etc) allows a backyard flock in residential zones, beside Stafford.

Hello! I'm in Central VA and I want to add a few blue egg layers this year. Does anyone have any leads for chicks?
Also, has anyone been to the Old Dominion Poultry Association Spring Fling? (next Saturday in Doswell)
Thanks!

Hi, I'm in Southampton County. Are the bantam hen, the rouen, and the khaki still in need of home, I could possibly take them. Sorry you have to give them up. Hope you find homes for all of them.
