funny thing is, the breeder is still saying there's no mottled in the lines, but how would you tell if a splash were mottled?

regardless, i've got a nice little mottled girl to go in with them, so i'll see for sure if he carries mottled with her. if so, no reason to keep the mottled roo around, right? 8)

That rooster sure looks mottled to me, splash would be the opposite (blue on white, not white on blue). I don't do mottled birds, but don't most breeders breed mottled to mottled? You could keep him with the girl you have, unless you've already got a better mottled boy.....did you ask on the Cochin thread? They'd probably know more :)

lol i got him from a breeder on the cochin thread. LOL and whether he's mottled or not, he's staying with the splash girl, and i'll add the mottled girl in. i like solid and mottled both, so we'll see what he tosses around.

Good Morning VA!

I hope everyone is on their way to a good day. Having a bit of an iffy day here. Has anyone ever experienced wisdom teeth problems? I have TMD and it flared up really bad a couple of Fridays ago when we had that afternoon snow. My truck does NOT like to drive in the snow and I apparently clenched my jaw most of the way home that day because by that night I could barely open my mouth. Anyway, I expected it to go away in a few days like it usually does. And the left side (which was the worst) did. But the right side is still soooo bad - I'm wondering if it might be something else. Aren't wisdom teeth supposed to be a problem in your 20's? I'm closer to 50 than to 20! It DOES seem to be a little bit better... I'll give it a few more days to ease off before doing anything drastic.

On a happier note, I noticed today that the sun is up MUCH earlier - I mean a really big difference. Just a month ago I spent the first hour at work in the dark. Today I had to close the blinds because the sun was making it impossible to read the computer screen.

I'm a clencher when I'm nervous (or cold) too. We went on a camping trip one year. The days were nice and warm so I didn't pack appropriately, the nights were freezing. That one weekend gave me sore jaws for the following week. Oragel was my bestest frand! It did go away on its own.
I'm guessing you've never had your wisdom teeth removed? If not, a trip to the dentist certainly wouldn't hurt. If they're hiding in your gums, the clenching could be irritating them. Hope you're feeling better soon :)

Thanks Nikki. I'm sure it will be better soon. A trip to the dentist is the 'drastic' thing I am hoping to avoid....
It's lunch time and I'm bummed....

Been poking frosted mini wheats in all day and sucking on them. I want a sandwich! I want anything actually that requires chewing! So sick of soup. <whine, whine, whine....>

well, fwiw, my grandfather (age 94) hasn't had any of his own teeth in better than 40 years, and had a wisdom tooth come in last winter. LOL couldn't figure for the life of him why his jaw hurt so much... so now he's got 1 tooth. not that it does him much good...
