Once again the Fishersville swap at Expoland .was worth the hour and a half drive. Still can't figure out why I can't sell a thing at local TS swaps but the same birds go really well up there. .Thanks to the more experienced breeders at both Roanoke and Fishersville who graciously share their knowledge and answer dumb questions You know who you are. :)
I'm going to try and make it to Fishersville next month - if I can remember to mark my calendar!

ok, here's a laugh for ya'll.

i thought... dorking/ee cross, vs blue laced red wyandotte. how hard can it be to tell them apart? riiiiight!

i have 10 out so far... 7 of them have 5 toes on each foot. that's easy. dorking. but 8 of the ones hatched from blue eggs, 2 from wyandotte eggs... the 3 others, all have only 4 toes on each foot... one has feathered feet/legs and very dark skin, one has feathered legs but clean feet and lighter skin, the last has clean legs and feet but the legs look darker than a typical yellow legged chick...

so i'm thinking, it's POSSIBLE, they're ALL easter eggers... just some hatched from blue eggs, and the others had an EE daddy... LOL

but the one with 4 toes and clean leggs LOOKS like a blrw as far as face/markings go... so we'll see.

got them all color-coded with zip ties, so i can tell them from the pure dorks. LOL orange for dorking x, blue for blrw, yellow for weebs

Does anyone happen to know of, or have a roo, they would like to get rid of? I have a friend who is looking for one. She would prefer an australorp or buff orpington.

I have some young Australorp cockerels (<10wks) that are from 3 y/o hatchery stock that I'm continuing for a laying flock. They are nothing special, but the girls are great layers and about 40% of them go broody. I could bring one to Gilmanor - $5

Hey maggiesdad and cane sisters. I'm stony garden on TEG. TEG won't let me log in on my phone. I would love one of your 'lorp cockrels.

Cane sisters, it would be great if you could pick one up for me and we can meet somewhere close to both of us.

Done & done!

Stony, LOVE the dog in your pict. Is it one of yours? I've always had such a soft spot for the big bullie-type dogs.

Maggiesdad, how will I find you at the swap?

Yup that's my male cane corso Vito.

I'm very excited about getting the roo! My coop is going up this weekend too, plus my birthday on the 29th... When is the swap again? May 6th?
