well, like I told Leigh, the sooner the better... save me the worry of putting these guys outside in the winter or running out of room for new hatches that are due with no place to put them. I've got a bunch of eggs due to hatch over the next 3 weeks as I just filled my 3rd incubator yesterday. LOL
and just remembered, I didn't write down the eggs I set last week!

so i'll have to candle and see which ones are further along to determine which eggs were set when. the ones yesterday are easy. I filled the whole incubator. the ones due Thursday I filled one whole plus part of the second, then finished filling the second last week. ...

k.i.forgot strikes again. i'm bad about writing down hatch dates.

Yeah Leigh told me she has some coming off the 20th so hopefully before too long she will be able to set me up with some and I can get this bator to her so she can hatch off more lol.

have more cubalayas and cubalaya grades hatching today. so far 10 have hatched. have 14 that are 3 weeks old from first batch. due to the snow and cold weather we have had this year , will wait until feb 1st from now on to collect any hatching eggs, making first hatch around feb. 21st. will probably only use the incubator for 3 hatches per year. will let the hens start taking more of these responsibilities away from me and making for a more naturally raised chick. probably won't have any asil chicks until april or may since they are all hen raised.

well the problem is, the older sfh chicks need to move out to make room for the younger ones... and I can't get to any of my baby pens outside right now because they're still buried under the snow.

I understand we still have a bit of snow left. I told her I am in no hurry that the incubator is not going anywhere.
