Such tiny eggs that make you wonder how anything develops in there:) Have you incubated quail eggs before? I know there are a lot of factors at play but how are hatch rates? About like chicken eggs? Better? I'm hoping all goes good for Spring sales so that I can get pharaoh quail by Summer. Then I'd be looking for quail egg auto turner trays...

This it my very first attempt. I'm not expecting much but I thought I would give it a go.

What is the date for the Spring Gilmanor sale?
And - who's bringing what?
it's always first Saturday in May.

i'll be bringing everything I've got available. some extra sfh pullets, cockerels, bantam cochins, bantam cochin 'oops' crosses, ee's, and who knows what else. might even have some blrw chicks but I'm not sure yet. I've only hatched 2 so far but a few more are cooking plus I just got a shipment of eggs from delisha from her blrw too.

at Gilmanor, i'll be looking for bantam blrw, bantam cochins (red roo, silver laced, & who knows what LOL), dorkings (red especially!) possibly some sfh from other bloodlines, maybe an EE or 2 from other lines, and anything else that catches my eye.

i'll also be shopping for some friends locally possibly so the list may grow. (unless they decide to go up themselves or get what they want before then).

but I really don't need to add any more varieties than what I've already got so my list really isn't huge. I just need to add a few to each pen to bring up my numbers for the most part... blrw are at the top of that list (need bantam girls especially) with the bantam cochin roos I need (silver laced and red)

Not to count my chicks before they hatch, ki4got, but I have a hatchery order set to come in April 20something. I have 5 straight run silver penciled bantam cochins in there, of which I really only need (fingers crossed) two pullets. Anything beyond that, I will probably look for new homes for. Definitely any cockerels. I don't know if that interests you at all. I only need two for possible future broodies. I should probably wait to see who makes it… I have never ordered from Ideal before but my McMurray order survived well beyond what I expected being a newbie. I had to get extras "just in case". Turns out, I should have gotten less "Just in case"!!

I'm looking forward to the swap! I'm looking to fill a chicken coop I have with something.... But I'm not going to decide until I'm there, that's the whole fun of it, mystery prizes!!!
