I have free to those that have a need for:
**1 Crele Orpington Roo, gentle giant, aged 6+ months.
**1 Cochin Bantam Solid Black, the fluffiest and smallest I have had for his age, 3 months.
**1 Phoenix Bantam pair mated and laying Birchen, been together since birth, aged 12 months.
**1 Ohiki Shojo pair mated and laying, been together since birth, aged 12 months.

I am willing to drive 30 minutes in each direction from Hillsville to give away. I do not know how far you are willing to drive in each direction to receive for free. I was not able to attend the last Flock Swap in Rocky Mount yesterday because my son is in the hospital. I have been giving them away since Friday. When my son is able to let me know AND lets me know what of his he wanted me to re-home last Saturday I will be giving those away also. Please Contact me here on this site. Not sure if private nessages is working. No one wants free healthy chickens?

Oh wow this is very tempting!! I'm about 15 Min. from Hillsville but I don't have any uses for any more chickens. Hope you find a home for them all!!!

I will be scaling down the number of chickens that I own.
This English Crele Orpington Roo I do not plan to get anymore eggs from online so he has no mate of his color pattern.
I considered putting him in with an English white orpington gal and wondered if they would end up calicos? Any thoughts on that? Anyone? I checked out several breed sites and saw no projected mix for a white gal and a crele guy. Also I did not see any Orpington referred to as a Calico. Anyone have any thoughts in that?

nope. calicos are from combining mottled and Columbian. jubilee are similar but also include mahogany.

to get more crele you're better off using something like a red and breeding back to get the wild type pattern back out of it.
or a bb red, but I don't think that exists in orps.

I have not seen and Calico Orpingtons. I have not seen any BB Red Orpingtons.
If I mix the Crele with my Buff or Red Orpington gals, that is an idea, better than the White Orpington maybe? He is such a gentle giant and I don't want to buy more eggs. I really want to rehome him to someone for free that has girls for him but there are no takers for a lone roo.
I am left with a lot of "ones" and "twos" currently because that is what hatched from last spring and early summer. This past late summer and early fall eggs purchased online have not hatched at all. Not going in that direction anytime soon. So I have to figure something out to do with such a sweet gentle giant Roo. He is such a sweetie Sunday dinner is out of the question. Thank you for your suggestion and I may go in your suggested direction with the Red Orpingtons. Thank you again.

well, if I can work it I might be able to take him... how much does he weigh? crossed over buff and red, you could (in a couple generations) get buff and red barred from him... that would be my goal if I took him, buff barred. got a nice (excessively broody) buff girl.

Crele OEGBs are so gorgeous so if there were crele orpingtons I'd get them no matter the protest of dh!! Without jumping too far into genetics about how many generationss would it take for something such as a new color to breed true?

I dont know how many generations.
I bought English Crele Orpingtons So, Sugar Cookie is an only child. I am told Sugar Cookie is a $350. Roo. Well I can not bring myself to sell him on an auction site and ship him anywhere. What if he gets hurt because the USPS damages his shipping box. What if they loose him in the cold and the sweetheart is frozen. What if they loose him? Nope I would rather give him away and I drive a bit to meet up with someone to give him to them. He is such a sweetie, i just can not bare to ship him and I am not buying eggs to hatch him a girl. I will just keep with my Reds, Splash, Blue, White, Buff, Lavenders and Chocolate Orpingtons. I dont need to add another color. My concerns are from experience. Did you see that picture of a box of eggs I flat out refused to accept. I never thought I would refuse eggs. I would never refuse a live chick order bc that would be sure death for the little darlings but eggs in a destroyed box, no way am I accepting. Please go back and look at the pic I posted if the box of eggs. I just dont trust for the USPS to mail him to anyone. I would rather give him away. If anyone takes too long making up their mind and someone swoops in and claims him then I am sorry but someone must want him.

This is a picture of a box of eggs that I refused. No way will they get their paws on this sweetie. I would rather give Sugar Cookie away than sell him on rarebreedauctions and let the mail touch him.
