I agree also. There is a fine line bettween making things better or worse, and once again the goverment has decided what is best for us. Their only things they care about are their paychecks, status and power. Once again we the people suffer. All this legislation is going to do is drive the cost of birds up and limit the numbers of breeds here in the state. My tax dollars hard at work. Thats a joke

I have been looking at the hatcheries online for this years chicks and I saw a note on one of them stating"We can no longer ship to The commonwealth of Virginia due to new testing that is required, but that same testing was not required in their home state" I remember thinking what this all about? I wish I could remember which one it was. I guess I might as well get ready to pay more for my chicks this spring as this will surely drive the price up and delay me getting new ones!!!!!!

Do guinea eggs taste different from chicken eggs? Never eaten them....

oh my yes...I love them all, but the guinea eggs are my favorite.

Is there somewhere I can find a schedule of local chicken swaps? I don't see any posted on the chicken swap forum that are local to my area.

Thank you Berkeleysprings! I did manage to find that while I was endlessly googling this afternoon lol. My family and I are planning on going and I'm just curious about auction etiquette? I've never been and the last time DH went to one, he was a kid. Any advice you can give? I put a thread up about it and haven't received any responses.
