Hmmm, tomorrow, what to do? Go to the swap in Charlottesville, or go see the poultry judging at the Va state fair? Decisions, decisions...

I thought any of you "near" me might be interested in this: Farmers' Feed & Seed in Suffolk has plenty of older chicks.

They recieved these babies in August in two shipments. They are mostly feathered out with first baby feathers. They are tall enough that they are no longer to stretch in the brooder. Since they came in August when it was hot, the shop never needed to put heat on them. Now they won't need special treatment unless we have a sudden frost or something.

Breeds include:

All female:
Golden Comet (a red sex link)
Black Star (a black sex link)
Barred Rock
Rhode Island Red (only two as of yesterday)

Straight run (boys & girls):
New Hampshire

Now the best part, the price: $2.59 each.

I think they have excllent prices on their feeds also.
