Some context for this photo: This Pekin duck had been a backyard duck with a small kiddie pool, alone after the drake was killed by an eagle, we were asked to take her to our island where we had been successful free ranging our flock. This was her first day on the beach, first day in the ocean, and I think the photo captures both her joy and surprise at an incoming shore break.
