Hi all!

We took in a barred rock pullet who was being bullied by flock mates and is visually impaired in one eye.

We have her in quarantine in the garage and does appear to have challenges navigating but is getting more confident each day.

She is 4 months old, weighs 3 pounds, is eating/drinking normally. Her comb is still red and upright. I noticed blood in her stool this morning and she shakes her head every now and then. Crop is normal as well.

Attaching picture of poops - any thoughts? I have safeguard here at home but would have to go out to grab anything else.

I'm going to tag in @dawg53 to have a look too.

To me, I'm seeing worms. Possibly Cecal and Roundworms, but it also looks like there may be a Tapeworm Proglottid in the last very bottom poop too.

He may have another suggestion, but for me, if I had Safeguard 10% Liquid Goat Dewormer or Horse Paste on hand, I'd go ahead and treat at a rate of 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once daily for 5days in a row.

If that's a Proglottid, then I'd follow up in a couple of weeks with Praziquantel. Equimax at a rate of 0.03ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10-14days.

I'd also check the rest of the flock, even though she's been separated out, likely they may have Roundworms too.

I agree with @Wyorp Rock. Change 2: Go ahead and start the Safeguard and the Equimax at the same time. Dose the rest of your birds with the Safeguard only since they arnt showing tapeworm segments in feces.
Just for your info; blood in feces can be caused by worms.
