Here it is today is the big egg lay day for us. We will be getting 4-5 eggs as they lay every other day. My 5 pullets usually lay on a 4-5 to 2 egg schedule on alternating days. Yesterday was a 2 egg day. They are grousing in the yard and on the porch so loud that my wife and I are having a hard time talking over morning coffee. I am sure this is normal behavior, but am curious does anyone else experience similar. On the plus side my bottom of the pecking order gal isn't being abused today so that is a plus she is being allowed to roam with the other 4.

It is just a random observation of mine but curious if anyone else noticed something similar or do I just have some special needs chicken?

Oh yes. A hen that has an egg coming through the shell gland is restless and extremely vocal, critical, fussy, swearing, and whatever else all that noise can mean in chicken language. Once you get tuned into it, you know exactly who will be heading to a nest box soon.
Thanks yep sounds spot on, just I was thinking I got chicken and not guineas!
