So, some of my young flock are making an odd squawking noise. They are about 3 months old. Is it their voices are changing from peeping to boking like boys going through puberty?

Eventually, they will loose their peeps. I don't think you'll get a full-bodied bawk until that first egg comes out. Then they know true pain.

Their voices do start to change I think my started to go from peeping to bawking around that time.
They are 5 months old now they have been bawking for a while now.

yea, mine sounded kind of like that when their voices were changing. Some changed earlier than others.
So I had some peepers and some bawkers.

my two boys have started they sound like a honk hoooounk noise then a nooohooo noise !

sounds a mixture of an old car horn and a dog

Probably. They make all kinds of weird sounds (half peeps/boks/squawks) during their transition.
