Are you kidding? I can bring you all the eating eggs you can eat! Hahahahah. My fridge is packed with eggs!

I hear peeping under my broody! She's only got three eggs, so hopefully something hatches! It's BO's from InHisService.

Have you considered bringing deviled eggs to the Pot Luck? YEAH!!! On the peeping. Hopefully at least 2 hatch.

Hmm. I've never made deviled eggs. I guess I could experiment on you guys if I had to. I'll try some on DH and see what he thinks.

I'd also consider a trade for chicken equipment (ie feeders/waterers, etc), or LF Cochin hatching eggs...oh...and if someone is interested in my BCM hen (18 mo old), I'd sell/trade her ($15).

My broody has at least two chicks with one pipped! woohoo!

Now I won't be hitting people up for chicks at the party (psst.. hey.. you got any day old babies? I mean CHICKENS you fool!)..

On the negative side, we managed to scare my five little NN pullets into the woods (I made DH cut down a tree branch that a predator could climb up) and now we can't find them...

There's no way I'm going to hatch out anything more this year - tempted to order five NN pullets from somewhere if these don't come back, but no days off to get them. Ah well, let's hope they come back.

Can't wait for the shindig!

Hey my NN are cute!

They DID come back..!! Hey, speaking of NN.. My chicks under my broody didn't do so well. One is fine, one died after zipping (perfectly formed, not even shrinkwrapped) and the third.. well.. you can see that here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7212217#p7212217 . For a sec I wondered if one of the NN roos I gave InHisService jumped into the BO pen.

I'm not sure if I can put these chicks under my poor broody, so I am *considering* ordering a few pullet chicks for next week if I can find someone that won't deliver on Tuesday (when I am working). Anyone going to the party interested in any chicks PM me and maybe we can split an order. I'm thinking I don't want to deal with a bunch of roos again this year.

My broody is so sad!

Umm.. anyone want a mohawk chick?
sad.png

Going to try making deviled eggs tomorrow and will have DH taste test since I'm not fond of them.

eta: chicks are back under broody. Sad sad - she was standing outside frantically clucking away looking for chicks. Had to do it.

I've sold a bunch of chickens at the fair providing they get picked up tomorrow night.

I will be selling most of my "random" birds at the picnic if anyone is interested. Probably won't be on BYC tomorrow as it is the last day and coop-out. Message me if anyone needs anything.

Poor Momma hen....she couldn't see her babies...I can understand her being frantic

Edited to add: Put a tablespoon of vingar in water when you boil the eggs or they won't peel. Doesn't matter age of eggs, it works every time.
