Vote for me to help me get my chickens please?

omgosh, thank you so much! I am so thrilled to be here, I'm so excited to finally be allowed to have chickens! Am researching Everything chicken right now, i need to learn everything about them and build their coops and runs and everything before I get them in the Spring, and I think this forum will be excellent help for me! Thanks again so much for your help!! This grant opportunity has came along at an amazing time because we won the right to have chickens, and got about $1000 dollars behind from being evacuated for hurricane Irma at the same time last month. So my first thought when I found out I could finally have them was how? It's giving me hope and one way or another I will get them. I'm using downed wood from the hurricane to build my coops and fence posts! Thanks again so so much! Sorry so chatty I'm too excited lol Have a wonderful day and hope to see you around here on this forum again in the future! I can let you know if I win the grant if you like! :)

Thanks <3 Am collecting downed wood from hurricane Irma to build the coop and fence posts, and researching the types of housing and fencing I'll need. I'm going to need all the advice I can get. I'll need to make blue-prints. I'm finding things like, make sure there is a perch in front of their nesting boxes, and that it is rounded with no splinters that might hurt their feet, and that they need a certain amount of light to lay eggs etc. I plan to rotate them constantly and use them around my little ''yarden'' to do my weeding so I want to build a portable ''chicken tractor''..The City says they must be housed in the back yard, and my neighbors have trees so my backyard has a lot of shade, and I'm thinking of building their coop with a clear roof to get them more light do you think this is a bad idea? I wonder how much darkness they need at night ..Lots to learn! Will definitely keep you posted! Awesome group!! :) <3 Thank you so much for the warm welcome <3

Just seen you are in Edgewater! We have a condo in Ormond by the Sea. Small world.

omgosh no way! Ormond is gorgeous. Edgewater is all grass lawns but I'm trying to change that here! The lagoon here is absolutely beautiful! A treasure, but they're not caring for it properly, speed boats and muck.. It is a small world indeed!! So nice to meet you. Are you allowed chickens in the city, in the residential areas in Ormond?
