After several attempts to check if Lilly was finished, and with seven other available boxes, Molly chooses to wait for the "good" box!

    If looks could kill:oops:

My hens do the same thing. They have many places to lay, but they all want that box, at the same time and heaven forbid one takes too long in there. It's like queing at the Ladies room.

Mine do the same thing...I guess they all do:) One day I went out to check on them and my Production Red was sitting on my Buff O. and the Buff's feathers were all ruffled. I wish I knew how to post pics because it is so funny. The Production Red is the flock leader so I guess if she has to lay, she has to lay no matter who is in 'the box'! ~chickens~ what would we do without them? [IMG]

I'd LOVE to see a picture of that!

As for posting a pic, you can PM me and I'll tell you how to do it---it's tricky, by my standards---I'm a little computer challenged---it took months to figure out how to get the little pic under my name [IMG]

Or I think what I did was put something like "post a picture on backyardchickens" in the search box. I still had trouble, but if I could figure it out I'm sure you can!

You mean Molly didn't force her way in? Golly... My girls do that all the time. Just this morning Juliette and Penelope were attepmting to push the other out so they could go first. And in the past (I've regretfully not had the camera with me) there would be one girl right on top of the other, straddling her because she wouldn't move her fat nehind out of the best box. [IMG] I have no idea what happened when it came time for the egg...

Quote:That would be a sight! Well, Lilly is "top dog", soooo....whether that has anything to do with it when it comes to egg laying, I dunno. [IMG] I have noticed the other 2 back off when Lilly is in the "good" one. They do some pacing and singing their song and once in a while I will find an egg in the second best box. I can be fairly sure it's not Lilly's! [IMG]
