Waiting….

I was hoping since the guinea farm is only 5hrs or so from my house that they’d arrive today. It’s 9am and no call from the post office, so I guess they will be here tomorrow. Tracking still shows Cedar Rapids IA.
Im so anxious I hardly got any sleep last night😝 I have everything setup and ready for when the littles arrive.
Arrive soon, little keets!!! :caf:pop:caf

Haha😆 Yep!
I just read an article about chicken chicks and giving them toys. I have a pop up mesh playpen - hence waterproof pad-it closes on top. I might put some tunnels and pathways in it, different surfaces. Heh, if it's good enough for a chicken-
Everyone else got to go outside during the summer but I don't think we're going to warm up like that again. The strength difference between the brooders and Nama's wild brood is notable

Haha! Sounds like a fun time for the little ones😆😆

My last tracking update just before midnight put the keets in St. Paul :wee
Anxiously awaiting my call from the post office 😁

I got my call just before 7am. I could hear my babies screaming the moment I opened the post office door. I could hear the post lady say “thank goodness” when I said I was there to pick up the keets😆
She said she thought an alarm was going off when she came into work this morning 🤣
They are slowly settling down, but I’m sure we will have calling going on all day as they adjust to their new surroundings.
The guineas outside have been coming to the sunroom window and calling out to the new babies. I’m sure everyone is wondering who all I have in the house😄

Now I’ll number each keet along with my best guess on what color it is. Please correct me if I get it wrong. No one was color coded.
invoice says there are 5 coral blue, 5 chocolate, 5 buff, 3 sky blue, and 2 opaline. There were 21 keets in the box and I suspect there are three opaline, not just two.

Oh my goodness ! You'll have to make this a diary thread to add pics so we can watch as they grow!

I think your last one is a male buff. It is claimed the buffs can be sexed at hatch once dry. If you have buffs that are darker than the others, they should be females.

Gorgeous!!!! Several of them, like opaline and sky blue, have darker and more distinct patterns than I expected from pictures I’ve looked at, but your IDs seem right on to me! Congratulations on your beautiful new babies!!! :love :love:love
