Well I can see why people cannot resist helping chicks out if their shell. As usual I have read lots about this and thought "nope I would never do that". I am looking at my only little pipped chick who has been working at it for 16 hours and not out yet. It would be so easy to reach in and help... I see it's little beak and it's breathing. It will be hard to just sit here and watch it die if it cannot get out....
Mine are mystery eggs though...it is going to be fun to try to figure out what these guys are crossed with. I know that the dad is a black silkie for sure. Since all my hens lay in eachother's nest I won't know who belongs to who until they get here.
Congrats to all of you! I have 3 hatched, 1 pipped and the rest I am watching like a hawk. All the waiting pays off when you see the first little fuzzy butt make it's way out!
