Picasso should be 6 months by now she's gotten to be a big butterball she is rumpless though and although she looks mature and red faced and red crest there is no egg yet. She may never lay since she was a damaged rescue chick and her leg healed but she walks funny, maybe her reproductive was damaged too or she is just gonna take her time to produce which is fine

Being rumpless.... would that effect egg laying? Speckled sussex

I think being rumpless may indicate she has some Araucana genes.:idunno
Some of my chickens did wait quite some time before they started laying. 6 months is not unusual. The sexlink chickens seem to start laying earlier. I have read posts that some chicken breeds sometimes wait up to 8 months to start. :idunno
Another factor is of course the winter. I know it is not all that cold for you, but the daylight length is as much of a factor as well. Will keep track on this thread as to when she might start laying.:thumbsup
WISHING YOU BEST...........................:highfive:

Hmmm .... sounds familiar.
So she's had no tail since hatch....and a funky leg to boot?
Could be skeletal deformities due to genetics or incubation issues.
Those can come with other internal abnormalities.
Only time will tell.

Check her pelvic points?...and cross your fingers!

I'm guessing no rump since hatch got her at about one month old was told she was a dog attack survivor but she also had impacted crop so I think the leg was broken so I'm thinking she's damaged from that trauma or is taking her time.... either way I'm glad she isn't crowing have enough crowers

Thanks both

Update... according to my hubby he saw marshmellow the roo in the flock Picasso is in mate with her, or TRY to mate with her twice now. But she is funny and a tough birdie she has been liking being "single" for the past 6 months and when he was atop she was able to turn back and peck his legs so he got off. Lol. Maybe she wants Babies as her guy but.... this must mean egg time coming within 2 weeks...
