I have 2 Rhode Islands that are about 21 weeks old. I have them on Flock Raiser with a little scratch mixed in. I've been giving them greens every day and I let them spend some time outdoors every day too. Am wondering when I can expect my first eggs from them? Is there anything I can do to help it along? I am so eager to see those first eggs - its like anticipating Christmas when you are little!

ccchicken I know how you feel. I don't know where you live, ( could update your profile ) however hens need 12 to 14 hours of daylight to stimulate production. I set a light on a timer to go on early enough in the morning to aquire 14 hrs light. A simple 40 or 60 watt bulb will be enough. Good Luck.
