Waiting on hatching

5 chicks hatched on day 21, it’s is now day 23 and still no hatching I did the water test they all float, temp has been 100-102 besides when we had to turn the 3 times a day, it’s all fron 4H been, candle them before day 18 and except two they all seem to have something in the shell, keeping it humid but don’t have a gage, but when two were having hatching difficulty I added more water and they were able to pop out, any ideas should I let them go too day 25 then try helping?

Not since Monday and some were all dark with air pocket others has some veins

I would check again and see if you see any movement. Usually even if it’s dark in there you can see some movement of shadows and stuff

I’m sorry for late reply. If there’s no movement they’re probably dead. I would try to do a gentle eggtopsy

We floated them non sunk they all just stay still and candle, two were empty but were like that from day one two had veins and blobs but when we moved the egg the blob swished back and forth, I am thinking they are not good, 3 others had air sacks dark blob and veins no movement but didn’t swish back and forth should I wait or try put a pin in the air sack? Why would 5 others hatch but not them

There are so many reasons why some eggs hatch and not others. I set 21 eggs back in February and 15 hatched perfectly. 1 had a leg problem, 1 died after pipping and 4 didn’t pip or hatch even though they were fully formed.

Sounds like it can be common makes me feel better I was afraid I did something should I let the 3 others go a day or two before tossing

You can. If they still don’t hatch I’d open them and see what went wrong and share it here. But I’d do it outside in case there’s a stench.
