My 5 EE hens and 3 SS hens are 18 weeks tomorrow, and I'm so excited!!! How long after your chickens started squatting did your hens start laying?

What is squatting? Mine were born 5/12/10 and are not doing anything. Will they naturally find a nest box? I just put a golf ball in each to give them an idea.

Quote:Go towards them as if you are going to pet or pick them up. they will squat firmly down low and kind of pop up their wing feathers. Mine has been squatting for 2 wks tomorrow, she does a little stomp prior to squatting it's actually very funny! I have no eggs yet mine are 25wks
