Always best to let them rest for a few hours before setting them in the bator. Let's them to come up to temps in your home and rests the air sac ....

Anywhere from 6 to 24 hours is what most people do.

The only 100 per cent hatch from shipped eggs I have ever had they were only rested at room temp. for 6 hours. I had always rested them overnight before that.

Only been here a couple of weeks but I am learning alot !

I do have to ask... what is the OP.

I have only tried with shipped eggs once before. About 15 years ago, I order a dozen eggs from a man in Michigan in Feb. Put them in my large GQF incubator that I had at that time. 12 days in -ice storm hits our area... no generator. My father in law happens to have a broody hen sitting on only 3 eggs. We put them under her. 3 days later the power is back on.. and my father in law is says that something has been getting some of his hens that were setting. So out come the eggs... back in the incubator.

After all that... I have 3 hatch.. they turn out to be a rooster and 2 hens..... hope I'm even 1/2 as lucky this time...
