Wakey, Wakey Eggs and Bakey!!

Good Morning!
Congratulations on the completion of your ladies' home :) What a fantastic step.

I'll miss having my coffee on the back deck this morning with the wild birds; but, it has been so cozy to ease into the morning listening to the rain that promises to last a good part of the day. The rain is welcome and the seedlings that I transplanted into my kitchen garden will love the soaking. Thank goodness most of the outdoor tasks I've been wanting to get around to (weeding and edging the front landscaping, mowing the lawn, getting those seedlings in the ground, etc.) have been completed in the last few days so, the rain means "sanctioned laziness"...I have no ambitions today beyond a little laundry and baking and a lot of yoga.

Off-grid is the dream...it is still a LONG way off. As you say, baby steps ;)
I'll bet your Dalmatian and my Whippet would have a fine time running together!

I miss having coffee on my deck also. We used to live in North Carolina and i could go out almost year round, unless it was rainy. I cannot wait to be able to begin gardening here at the new place! Im more worried about how my plants did from the culture shock this winter! we moved in November right into snow and cold. it was nice and cozy in nc when we left... so Im just hoping that they get buds here soon to show they made it and I can get them settled into their new home too! I just love gardening! I love baking and just doing easy house work. Makes for a relaxing day! I be the dogs would love to run together. Specky loves making new friends and LOVES to play!!

Lol, we didn't miss one another by much...I only moved here less than a year and a half ago; I'm in the extreme NW corner of SC, 30 miles from Highlands, NC.
Portia is four years old and loves everyone. Whippets can be timid, so I socialized the heck out of her when she was little, exposing her to every terrain and situation I could. She isn't fazed by crowds, noises like fireworks, swimming in ocean, lake or stream and is up for just about anything as long as she can be with me. Whippets can do 35-40 mph, Portia really likes a dog that can give good chase.

I am not a regular tea, nor coffee person but I do like getting up at 6am.
Also, I am probably much younger than most on this thread and I hope that doesn't put me at a disadvantage...somehow?
Am I welcome to join is what I am trying to ask?

awe, Yeah dalmatians are about the same. They become over protective of their family and household animals if they arent socialized enough. So ive have to expose her to everything right from the start as well! Seems to work so far, chickens are the newest thing she needs to learn to be good around. Specky loves chasing birds!!! lol. and she too is super fast. we used to race her on the 4-wheeler and she would smoke us 80% of the time! But shes a lovey dovey, and a huge baby <3

My background is in Physical Therapy and Whippets and Dalmatiins both have such breathtaking conformity, such beautifully balanced musculoskeletal structures and that combination of grace and power.
