Man I've been spending all this time freaking out over my wal-mart thermometer/hydrometer reading high temps. Well I read on a thread here that there was a woman who found that her wal-mart therma/hydro was about 8 degrees off. So I decided to test mine. Guess what? Yup it's betwee 7-8 degrees off too! AHHHHH!!! All this time I thought I was cooking my eggs and they have been fine. Now I'm going by the digital AND the old fashoned one combined. Since I can't keep the old fashoned one right under the light I judge the two together for how hot it is in the bator. Don't trust cheapo wal-mart therma/hydro!!!

Mine work perfectly, I have 4 of the Springfields and 4 Accurites. I've never had to replace any but have had to buy new ones as I keep adding bators!!!

Mine are the digital thermometer/hygrometers.

IDK maybe I happened to get a lemon. Leave it to me to get one. But my old fashoned thermometer when directly under the light was reading about 97-98 where the digital one was reading 106 at the same time right next to the old fashoned one. so both under the light were reading dif. temps. I trust the old one better. It is one of the ones with the red dye. Oh well you gotta start somewhere and learn.
