I have a 7 month old female silkie bantam chicken that doesnt walk much.she sits in the same spot all day and when she is made to walk she picks her feet up high.its odd the throw her feet up high in the back.she did just have a large bowel movement that we thought was an egg at first bc it was the size of an egg and had a white coating on it.after that she ate a little an then had a dark kind of runny bowel movement and went right back to sitting in her same spot, if you pick her up and move her to the middle of the yard she will just squat down and stay right there.we cant figure out whats going on?

Did she get pecked on the head? Silkies are prone to brain swelling if they get pecked on the head. If that is the case, vitamins might help but I don't know what is wrong. I have read once about a silkie acting like that.

It is not normal for silkies.

Here is a helpful website: click on the left column for "silkie skull" to see pics of the hole in the skull of silkies

these are vitamin deficiency visuals - many folks use vitamin e and selenium for strange silkie neurological behavior (see crookneck article on the browneggblueegg website if interested)
