I got 2 new Isa Browns the other day, both are about 16 weeks old the guy said. Both are pullets. One of them was doing fine, but now she is walking really low to the ground and keeps making weird growling like noises. Otherwise, she seems fine. She is eating and drinking, her crop will get full and empty, she's been taking dust baths...I've never had Isa's before so I don't know if this is normal behavior? Any ideas?

She's getting ready to lay soon, her hormones are spiking.

I have a Buff Orpington like her. Every time she gets ready to lay (like coming off a molt) she gets cranky and growls a lot, it's like early broody symptoms, cranky and growls.

Nope. Chickens can start laying as early as 4 months (16 weeks). I'm not familiar with the Isa Browns but from what I understand they are bred to be production layers so should start laying pretty early.
