wanna be chikn farmer?

hello, i believe i want to have chickens in my yard, im not worried about a coop im,more worried about breed type to start, will they survive the colorado weather and so on....
any ideas where to start

Start just where you are: BYC.
Go through the past forum discussions and kick around the several articles in the Learning Center, you'll learn a ton. At least that's what I did.
You still shouldn't be afraid to ask questions, we've all been where you are now. Good luck!

I would think Colorado and Utah would have similar variables. We have Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Easter Eggers, Black Sexlink, and Wyandotte. Tons of other breeds will do great as well.

Ditto to above.One word of advice...chickens are addicting. Decide how many u want, double that to build ur coop, and last bot not least, build ur coop BEFORE u get the chickens. Wspecially where u live u want to be prepared. Good luck & enjoy urself.
