I have a 20x16 structure that we are turning into the coop.
Here are some pics, anyone have any ideas for it? Thanks!

Nice big building!

I would make a small partition somewhere near the door to keep your feed & chicken supplies. I have a small area where I keep the feed & a cabinet with chicken things (heat lamps, meds, grit, etc). It's nice to be able to go in there without worrying about stepping in poo.

You may want to consider creating a small section where you could keep a hen with chicks or an injured bird safe from the general population.

That is a great building. The problem with advise at this point is the lack of information. How many birds, are they general population, do you plan on seperating for breeding, is it multi purpose, of soley for chickens, do you plan on having juvies in there also?

I love the idea for putting feed in a clean spot! I think I am going to use one of our old rabbit hutches for a brooder pen and for a sick spot, what do you think?

It will be hopefully for both general population and I would love to have some seperating for breeder pens. Not sure about juvies, never thought about it.
Most of my chickens free range through the day, but if we are breeding them I think they would need a run right?

Here's my idea. You can divide the run outside as well so your breeders can go out but not mix.........

I had a large coop at one time and my favorite part (especially since I did all of the work) was the lights and exhaust fan. I put a switch in my house that controlled the lights in the coop...that way you can turn the lights on/off easily. I used an infared light during the cold winter nights, but I didn't need it on during the day so I could just flick the switch when it got too cold. I also installed an exhaust fan near the peak of the roof. It blew air from inside to outside and I installed vents near the floor for good circulation. That fan kept the coop nice and cool during the hot summers and removed poo fumes too!
One more thing, I built free standing nestboxes (not attached to an exterior wall) so that I could remove the eggs without walking in the coop.
